Eskenazi Museum of Art
Bloomington, IN
The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art contains four specialized centers and technology-equipped learning spaces. The museum is dedicated to engaging students, faculty, artists, scholars, alumni, and the wider public through the cultivation of new ideas and scholarship.
The Eskenazi Museum required a remodel of its 112,000 SF space. The project aimed to enhance patron access, upgrade academic learning spaces, and improve the overall visitor experience.
Wilhelm revitalized the existing museum space by reinforcing access to the collections, facilitating connections to the academic curriculum, and enhanced the visitor experience with technological upgrades. Existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were modernized including a comprehensive integration of technology into the galleries. The proposed design resulted in approximately 39,000 SF of new gallery space, 17,000 SF of new museum support space, and more than 5,000 SF of new visitor amenities.
