Lower Pogues Run

Indianapolis, IN

For the LP-01 combined consolidation sewer, Wilhelm coordinated with Lucas Oil Stadium to install a 30-foot-deep diversion structure. Due to large crowds and traffic, the work had to be completed between February 1 and July 31, outside the football season. Strategic planning allowed Wilhelm to maintain traffic on South and Missouri Streets while installing structures. They directed jack the 84” pipe across the intersection to avoid disrupting traffic and sequenced the work to align with property access timelines. Detailed planning and communication with stadium staff ensured the project was completed on time.

For the LP-02 project, Wilhelm worked in a narrow corridor near the I-65/70 split and an active rail line, implementing extensive geotechnical monitoring to prevent impacts. The project involved 30-40-foot-deep excavations for diversion and screen structures. Wilhelm jacked a 10-foot by 6-foot box under culverts to capture flow and installed a 96” Hobas pipe using a 132” TBM to avoid disturbing the interstate. They also installed a 120” Hobas pipe and a second diversion structure with a soldier pile and lagging system. All work was completed on schedule without impacting the interstate.
