Pleasant Run Combined Consolidation Sewer

Indianapolis, IN

This project, part of Citizens Energy Group’s Tunnel program, aimed to divert wet weather flow from combined sewers to tunnels to prevent untreated water from entering waterways. It involved constructing cast-in-place structures for the Pleasant Run Combined Consolidation Sewer (CCS) to direct flow to drop shafts. The work included supporting existing sewers, building five diversion structures, installing five 120” precast manholes, laying 560 feet of 24”-72” HOBAS piping up to 30 feet below grade, jack and boring a 48” line under Fall Creek Road, and fully replacing the pavement. The project required significant utility coordination and traffic diversion.
